The Mori no Ike Apprentice Program offers an opportunity for returning villagers to improve their Japanese language skills while also taking on special leadership responsibilities in the Village. Mori no Ike apprentices live with other Mori no Ike participants and join in village activities, but also contribute to the Mori no Ike community and develop a special skill at the same time, learning from master teachers and counselors. Participation in this program is subject to approval by the dean. Please apply with the google form linked below. You will be contacted to complete registration after your application is reviewed. Participants receive a certificate of apprenticeship with work hours included. Program cost $3,135, not eligible for scholarship. All 2-week credit villagers may be expected to to go on an overnight camping trip to a nearby state park or other natural area off of our campus. Villagers may have the option of hiking, biking or canoeing to these locations, in addition to taking our van. Villagers who canoe must pass a deep water swim test in order to participate. All in-Village safety protocols are followed on these trips. Accommodations/modifications to the itinerary will be made for individuals as we are able. Please request modifications in your health forms. High school credit sessions are designed for villagers entering grades 9 and up in Fall 2026.

The Concordia Language Villages Global Ambassadors Program for villagers ages 11-15 offers an hour of daily instruction in Russian Language, in addition to language immersion through cultural activities and an English-language simulation of a summit of an international leadership body, similar to Model UN. Minimum registration fee $150 This beginners Voyageurs program is ideal for villagers ages 10-14 who are ready for a 5 night camping experience, are new to outdoor living or canoeing, or who just want a taste of the Voyageurs program, but aren’t quite ready for a longer experience in the woods with a multi-day canoe trip. All French levels are welcome! Our 1 week program provides an opportunity to live outdoors while learning about the historical French-Canadian voyageurs while acquiring skills in French. The days are filled with language learning, canoeing, camping skill development, arts and crafts, swimming, singing, hanging out with your brigade, and daily tasks like chopping wood, cooking food and doing dishes, all with gusto and joie de vivre! This session emphasizes community building, immersion in nature, and the joy of paddling through beautiful landscapes, all while speaking French. It’s an ideal introduction to the voyageur experience with a manageable physical challenge!

At basecamp, the days are filled with language learning, canoeing, camping skill development, arts and crafts, swimming, and singing. While hanging out with your brigade, you’ll learn to do daily tasks like chopping wood, cooking food and doing dishes, all with gusto and joie de vivre! Then you’ll embark on a canoe trip in Voyageurs National Park that offers the chance to apply your base camp learning. This session is ideal for campers ages 12-16 as well as those who are new to the outdoors or canoeing. Minimum registration fee $150 Our one-week programs are perfect for villagers who are ready to experience an overnight camp but can't fit a longer program into busy summer schedules, or aren't quite ready for a longer time away from home. These programs provide an opportunity to explore the language through small and large group learning activities and immersive daily experiences. Plus, you'll get to do all the fun arts, crafts, games and cultural exploration of the Language Village camp experience, along with traditional summer camp activities like campfires, singing songs, and making new friends. These programs welcome language learners of all levels. This session runs concurrently with a Family Week program, so villagers sometimes take part in whole-Village fun and activities! Adults in family programs that overlap with youth overnight sessions are required to complete a background check.

Family programs are designed for family units that include at least one adult (age 19 or older) and one child (age 18 or younger). Individual adults should register for our Adult Programs instead. Adult programs provide more and more intensive opportunities for language learning geared specifically towards adult learners. Individual adults not attending with minor children may request an exception to this policy, please contact clvregister@cord.edu to start this process. All attendees, regardless of age, need to register individually for the Family Programs. Day camps provide an opportunity to explore the language of the Village through games, arts & crafts, singing, sports, and more. Lunch is provided each day, and day campers will have opportunities to participate in some activities alongside overnight campers.
