FAMILY VACATION

Join us for a global learning vacation for the entire family—right here in Minnesota! Overnight family weeks and weekends are a great way to spend time together, discover new international foods, play games, make crafts, enjoy music and take part in some old-fashioned outdoor fun. And while you’re all busy having such a good time, together you’ll experience the wonder of speaking a new language through our fun and natural immersion environment. Invite friends, aunts, uncles and grandparents—or whatever family means to you!

Please note: Family programs are designed for family units that include at least one adult (age 19 or older) and one child (age 18 or younger). Individual adults and couples should register for our Adult Programs, which provide more intensive opportunities for language learning designed specifically for adults.

What to Expect

Family programs offer great preparation for a family trip abroad or for a child’s future summer experience at the Language Villages. Explore family heritage or learn about an entirely new culture! The best part is simply being together in a beautiful setting and being able to reinforce the importance of being a courageous global citizen. Family weeks and weekends are available in select languages.

  • Independent learning for kids and adults
  • Family and group activities
  • Culturally authentic dining

Lodging

We typically house two to three families (or more, depending on the facility and the size of family units) together in a cabin; staff does not live with you. Our cabins house 12-14 people, depending on the site. Bathroom facilities are either directly in the housing unit or a short walk down the path. Within each cabin, families are accommodated in semi-private areas. We do our best to put similar families together, taking into account gender of participants and the ages of children. If you would like to share a cabin with another family, please note this on your registration form.
