Sundays and Tuesdays from 6-7 PM Central Time. All language levels welcome. Our staff will be in touch with you after registration to schedule an interview to assess your language level, and you will be placed in a class section with others of a similar level. All classes take place in the same time slot, with different instructors based on language level.

Late registrations will be accepted through the first week of the session, registration deadline 9/15 Join instructor Alida for this beginner Norwegian Class based on the På Vei Textbook.Beginners (A1) which will spend 12 weeks working through the first half of På Vei and can continue with the second half of the text in the January course. På Vei is the primary Norwegian language textbook used for teaching new immigrants and students in Norway. The latest edition has beautiful pictures and graphics that will be used as a jumping-off point for discussions about language and culture. There are also updated dialogues that better reflect the people, culture and workforce in Norway. Sessions meet twice per week for 60 minutes over Zoom. Textbook required, workbook optional.

Tuesdays, 5-6. Yes to Class 11/26. Beginning Finnish 1. Join instructor Tiina Watts on a Finnish cultural and linguistic journey! Our fall Finnish Virtual Adult Class offers a real-time interactive small group setting for adults looking to develop or strengthen their language skills. The Fall Suomen Mestarit 1 class continues on in the January session. Together, these two classes are Intended for Beginner (A1-A2) and early intermediate language learners. The emphasis of this class is on communication and increasing language proficiency through a variety of speaking, listening, reading, writing and grammar activities and lessons, interspersed with songs, games, videos and stories. We will be using the Suomen mestari 1 (uudistettu—revised edition) textbook which students order independently. The Suomen mestari books are a great resource with their dialogs, vocabulary lists, grammar explanations, topical discussions, as well as a wide variety of exercises. The program will start Thursday evening, September 12, and go until Monday midday, September 16, perfect for those in school and who work full-time. We have Finnish language instruction each day except Thursday, cultural presentations, Finnish activities (crafts, sports, games, conversation, etc.), singing, movies, walks in the beautiful forest, as well as delicious Finnish food and sauna by the lake. This 12-week Beginning Italian Language Class will cover all grammar and language functions pertinent to the A1-A2 level learner, with a focus on the communicative skills needed for your next trip to the bel paese! These 12 weeks will include: 1-hour synchronous weekly Italian Immersion Zoom meeting (English will be used in the chat), recording shared afterwards. 1-hour asynchronous self-lead language learning activities designed by the instructor with feedback provided. Participants will need a copy of Italian Now!: L'italiano d'oggi. Work in this textbook will continue with a second 12-week course beginning in January of 2025. This class for beginning language learners, taught by experienced Concordia Language Villages Japanese teachers, offers real-time, interactive small group learning using our language immersion teaching methodology.
