Standard price $1045 65+ and students $970 Join us for a fun-filled week of immersive language learning for all-levels, in community with other adult learners. Enjoy culturally-inspired meals, singing, structured language classes, films, campfires and more.

Family programs are designed for family units that include at least one adult (age 19 or older) and one child (age 18 or younger). Individual adults should register for our Adult Programs instead. Adult programs provide more and more intensive opportunities for language learning geared specifically towards adult learners. Individual adults not attending with minor children may request an exception to this policy, please contact clvregister@cord.edu to start this process. All attendees, regardless of age, need to register individually for the Family Programs. Tuition is as follows: Adult participants: $910 each Youth participants: $740 each Participants ages 3 and under: Free All paying participants must pay a $100 registration fee to save a spot.

Standard price $1245 65+ and students $1145 Minimum deposit $125 Join us for 3 ½ hours of language classes each day, taught by Daniel Haataja, former senior lecturer of Finnish at the University of Minnesota and former professor at Umeå University in Sweden; Tiina Watts, Finnish teacher at Brigham Young University; and Leila Stewart, former Salolampi summer counselor. We will also have a kantele performance by Sheila McLoughlin, and a lecture and performance on Finnish folk music in the upper Midwest by fiddler Jason Busniewski. Of course there will be plenty of Finnish crafts, weaving, baking, sports, games, singing, delicious Finnish food, sauna, movies, walks in the woods, etc. Tervetuloa!

Our theme this year is “Deutschland West und Ost.” The differences and tensions between Western and Eastern Germany go back over a thousand years, were accentuated while Germany was split in two during the Cold War, and persist today in a variety of ways. Attention life-long learners! Join us for an immersive time of Norwegian language learning, cultural experiences, good food, music, laughter, connections and more. Many of you have Norwegian heritage as part of your family story, or you have learned some Norwegian in the past. Some of you have traveled abroad and have come to appreciate Norway for its beauty and culture. Some of you are interested in Norwegian perspectives on politics, history or current events. Our theme for both of this year’s adult camps is “Crossings”, connecting with a larger ongoing celebration described here: https://crossings.norwegianamerican.com/. From their website, “Crossings commemorates 200 years of organized Norwegian migration to North America. It’s a year to celebrate the strong ties between Norway, the United States, and Canada. It’s an opportunity to remember what it means to take great risks and trade one home for another, and a chance to better understand the movement of peoples that continues worldwide today.” All language proficiency levels are welcome, from beginner to advanced, and together, we will explore common passions as we expand our knowledge and skills.
