Authentic Cuisine

You’ll love exploring the language and traditions of China by tasting authentic Cantonese, Mandarin and Szechwan cuisine. If you finish your meal and are hungry for more, we encourage you to ask for seconds—using Chinese words, of course! Meal times are also a great time to practice your skills with chopsticks. Meet Our Staff

At Sēn Lín Hú, you’ll be surrounded by caring and supportive staff members who enjoy helping you learn Chinese in a fun environment. Some of our staff members are native speakers, while some have learned Chinese as a second or third language—just like you!

Why Learn Chinese?

Chinese is spoken by more than a billion people, making it the world’s most widely used language. Today, an estimated one out of every five people on the planet speaks Chinese. More than five million people in North and South America alone speak Chinese.

Our Site

In early October, 森林湖・Sēn Lín Hú, our Chinese Language Village, lost all of its culturally authentic materials, printed curriculum and program supplies that were collected and built over its almost 40-year history in a tragic fire at Maplelag Resort, home to Sēn Lín Hú for the last decade. Unfortunately, the Maplelag main building will not be rebuilt in time for Sēn Lín Hú to be hosted there for summer 2023.

We’re excited to announce that a location has been secured for this summer! We will be hosting Sēn Lín Hú at Concordia College in Moorhead, Minn. We understand that you will have questions about what the Village will look like, so we’ve composed a Frequently Asked Questions document.
