Concordia Language Villages is excited to offer participants new opportunities to begin or continue their adventure in language and cultural learning! Villagers ages 8-18 (age ranges vary by language) can join one or more Virtual Village sessions — beginning to advanced language learners welcome! Experience fun, interactive language learning and cultural activities — all from home. The four precepts of the CLVway will continue to be the backbone of the immersion experience. It’s REAL language, REAL culture and REAL people. Whether online or in Northern Minnesota, Concordia Language Villages is committed to inspiring courageous global citizens.
One-Week Virtual Village sessions offer language and cultural immersion for villagers ages 8-18 throughout the summer. Villagers can take one week or fill their entire summer! Sessions provide at least two and a half hours of virtual, interactive immersion in the target language each day, Monday-Friday.
All language levels are welcome. Where possible, villagers will be grouped by similar proficiency level and age. Staff to villager ratio of 1:6, on average.
Villagers in grades 9-12 can take advantage of our summer Virtual Village high school credit program and earn a year’s worth of language credit in just four weeks!
Villagers and their school will receive an official transcript that includes a grade for the session, the grade components, a narrative evaluation, a course syllabus of content and their completed learning portfolio.
Classes meet for 7.5 hours between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Central, Monday-Saturday for the entirety of the program. Synchronous and asynchronous hours will total 180 hours at the end of the program.
We're excited to offer Clubs this fall, for villagers ages 8-18, with REAL language, REAL culture and REAL people — all virtually! Join us for one hour a week for six weeks to experience a new aspect of the cultures where your language of choice is spoken. Try your hand at making an omelette in French, virtually visit a Swedish museum, learn the samba in Portuguese and so much more! Additional activities for villagers to complete at home will be provided to maximize the fun!

Virtual Village Classes offer a real-time interactive small group setting for language and cultural learning. These hands-on experiences follow a roadmap for six weeks and take villagers on a journey to increased language proficiency. Asynchronous activities for villagers to complete at home will be provided to extend learning.
All language levels are welcome. Villager age ranges vary by each Virtual Village Class — elementary age, middle school or high school age students. Where possible, villagers will be grouped by similar proficiency and age. Staff to villager ratio of 1:6 (grade school) or 1:7 (middle and high school), on average. Sessions meet twice per week for either 30 minutes (grade school) or 60 minutes (middle and high school) over Zoom; schedules are determined by each Virtual Village Class. Non-credit grades are available upon request.

The year-long, fall and spring semester options all follow the same schedule:
In the semester programs, students and their school will receive an official transcript for the semester that includes a grade for the semester, the grade components, a narrative evaluation, a course syllabi of content and their completed learning portfolio of the semester.
In the year-long option, students receive a mid-year grade and an official transcript at the end of the course with all of the above for your school to review. The program runs for 24 weeks, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5 hours of synchronous learning and approximately 2.5 asynchronous hours per week (independent work). *Tuesdays and Thursday evenings with 2.5 hours of live class time.
The virtual, academic year high school credit program is offered for students in grades 9–12 in six languages: French, German, Italian, Japanese, Norwegian and Spanish. It offers at least 180 hours of instruction and is designed for learners at all proficiency levels — beginning to advanced. The high school credit programs are accredited by Cognia, enabling us to grant credit.
