Your Swedish immersion experience will be different from every classroom experience you’ve ever had. Every activity is conducted in Swedish, providing an opportunity to learn more of the language within a cultural context. Students meet counselors and friends who will teach the Swedish of their everyday conversations, tailored for villagers’ age and generation! In additional to spoken Swedish you will also learn to read and write Swedish.

Two-week sessions gain and enhance language and culture skills through an immersion experience embedded in daily life and feature games, sports, crafts, music, and outdoor activities. Emphasis is on listening comprehension and speaking. Our two-week Youth Immersion program is for ages 8-18 and is open to all proficiency levels.

Whether you’re looking for an early introduction or an intensive language program, we’ll meet your level of language and help you to advance during your camp session.

Two-week villagers share their experiences at Sjölunden.

First-year villager Katrin describes her first experience at Sjölunden.
