Explore Russian through exciting activities like music, dance, arts and crafts, and sports that will engage your entire family (even tots) in the learning process. Our family programs are a great opportunity to learn language as a family, or prepare younger children for a future Language Villages youth immersion experience.

Immersed in beautiful surroundings, Russian foods, and Russian-language conversation, both children and grown-ups absorb lessons about the larger world and the value of learning language. Family weeks and weekends allow grandparents, parents, children, aunts, uncles, and cousins the opportunity to explore the Russian language and culture together, and to share experiences and build memories that will last a lifetime.

Family Fun Weekends

Like our Family Weeks, the Family Fun Weekends provide an ideal opportunity to share an “international” experience together for a fraction of the cost of traveling abroad. Relax and enjoy yourself in our beautiful natural surroundings. No need to worry about cooking. Our incredible kitchen staff prepares delicious homemade Russian cuisine. From blini and borshch to pierogi and pelmeni, our participants dine family style on a set menu that changes daily to highlight different dishes and regions.

Adults and children spend time together at meals, evening programs, dancing, singing and enjoying the outdoors. But there are also special times set aside where kids get to be kids together, learning language through fun songs, games and play while the adults take a language or culture class, learn a new craft or visit with new friends.

Because our family fun programs take place during the winter, participants will also enjoy outdoor winter activities.

Family Weeks

If you’d like to cook some of these tasty dishes yourself, there are plenty of opportunities for cooking classes, so that you and your children can add some Russian favorites to your family recipe box. The Family Week provides an ideal opportunity to share an “international” experience together for a fraction of the cost of traveling abroad. Relax in our comfortable log cabins to the sound of the wind gently fluttering through the leaves. No need to worry about cooking.
