Mar e Floresta’s Apprentice Program will help you learn Portuguese while developing cultural competency as well as a community skill. You will spend part of your time in regular language learning groups, and the rest working on a community skill and developing cultural competency. Portuguese apprentices live with regular Mar e Floresta participants and join in villages activities, but also contribute to the community through their skill by learning from experienced staff in their field. This is a great learning and leadership opportunity all while joining in the fun and magic that is Mar e Floresta.  Participants receive a certificate of apprenticeship with work hours included in addition to reduced tuition. This program is for ages 16-18 with two years of Portuguese or equivalent to show moderate fluency in spoken Portuguese. Past experience at Mar e Floresta is recommended but not required.
