Villagers experience French language and francophone cultures through an immersion experience that features wilderness adventure and outdoor living. Learn more about daily life at Les Voyageurs.

Building a campsite, splitting firewood, cooking over an open fire, identifying plants and birds, canoeing, portaging, and paddling through sun and rain are just a few of the ways that villagers develop their adventurous side and leadership skills. Woven throughout the day are songs, foods, games, cultural stories, and artistic activities from around the French-speaking world.

Language skills in listening comprehension and speaking are emphasized in a one-week session. No experience in the language is necessary. Villagers new to French will absorb the basic vocabulary for daily life, nature, and camping as well as simple conversation skills and many, many songs. Villagers of all proficiency levels will grow and sharpen their skills through the immersion experience and conversation practice, while also gaining an introduction to the exciting world of wilderness camping adventures!

One-week sessions are open to villagers ages 11 through 13. All levels of experience in the outdoors are welcome!
