Greetings from our dean, Dr. Ross
King
Welcome
to Sup sogui Hosu 2007, the 9th year of programming at the
Korean Language Village! This year, as always, we have a
dedicated group of highly credentialed returning staff,
complemented by many talented and energetic new staff from
Korea, Canada and the USA. In addition to the usual array of
activities and learning groups, we are pleased to launch two new
activities this year:
1) with the generous support of the Simone Corporation, Korea,
we have purchased a set of 10 new gayageum zithers and hired
Youngju Park, a Gayageum major from Seoul National University, to
lead instruction in this Korean musical instrument.
2) with the generous support of Yuhan-Kimberly corporation in
Seoul, we have purchased a kiln and 4 potter's wheels, and
trained and hired returning staff member Jenny Robinson to pilot
a new program in ceramics.
It is going to be a great summer!
