God morgon! After a very hectic I-Day and some glitches on the website, we're back online! Please look back at yesterday's pictures and narrative for a complete look at the Dedication of Visby, our newest cabin, and our great experience at International Day.
We will update with more Saturday pictures (including pictures from the Disco!) on Sunday sometime. Please check back!

The day after I-Day started out with beautiful morning sun!
Our troll family announced a hearty breakfast of frukt (fruit), mackor (open-faced sandwiches), and gröt (oatmeal). |
Today was not only Saturday but Disco Dag! Our daily expressions were three ways to say "hi"--Tjena! Tjaba! Tja! |
Sandra and Karin (former Sjölunden counselors) came from the American Swedish Institute (ASI) to share some exciting news for villagers who would like to continue with Swedish during the academic year. There is a group of villagers from Sjölunden called På Gång which meets one Sunday a month for continued Swedish learning and connecting with Sjölunden friends. We are also so grateful to ASI for continued scholarship support.
For more information on youth programs including På Gång, check out ASI's website.

Pia also spoke to the two-week villagers about CLV's abroad programs. We would love to send Sjölunden villagers to Sweden sometime soon! |
Språkundervising med Emilia!
Language learning with Emilia! Today they were working on how to tell time in Swedish.

Vad ni är duktiga!
You are so smart! |
The credit studenter are working on their kultur projects. |

These two week villagers are taking a break during kortfritid. Maybe they are sitting next to the mailbox waiting for the mail to come in. Have you sent your villager mail recently??? |

The bank opens! Hej, Maja!
Today was our last day for this round of INTRESSE (interest activities).
This is dalmålning--a type of Swedish folk painting that requires great patience to do all the details! |
Simon's mamma is going to love this! |
Bror works carefully on a box for his farmor. |
Elsa's box is done! |
Look what a great job Ylva did! |
Pia even got a new namnbricka with dalmålning on it! |
We love segling!

Here we go! |
Meanwhile, back at the other dock . . .

Water games! (or are those dances learned at I-Day?) |
Aftonsamling!

We played a fun game where if you look down and then up and look someone else directly in the eye, you both scream and then sit down. It was hilarious!
See Greta and Evy demonstrate! |

What is Alf doing?
Step one!
Step two! |
Step 3
Hurrah! Alf gets the frisbees off the roof! |
Hej, flickor! Vad gör ni?
Hello, girls! What are you doing? |
This INTRESSE is called BORDSPEL (Swedish Board Game group). |
Olivia och Linda säger hej till Karolina!
Olivia and Linda say hello to Karolina, Olivia's aunt who was a villager and ledare at Sjölunden for years! |
Tonight Martin's language group did the food presentation. Martin played "Gammal Magda" or "Old Magda." |
Loki aged several decades to play "Old Alf." |
Emma and Erica also played aged counselors Gammal Mia och Gammal Linnea. |
During Allsång we sang "Aka till Kina"--a great song that underscores the difference between the Swedish verbs "Gå" (to walk) and "Åka" (to go). The song reminds us that it is impossible for us to "gå till Kina . . . bättre att åka!"

Lots of ledare played parts tonight for the song "Sånt är livet!" |
Welcome to the stuga Gröna Lund! Along with all the other stugor tonight, they had to clean their stuga and pass inspection by Kajsa and Linda in order to go to the DISCO! Every stuga passed!
Here is what Gröna Lund looks like inside . . . |
