It began to rain
just as we took the flag down at aftonsamling. |
However, the
studenter came ready for graduation! |

Martin still
insisted we do a little yoga and chi
before the big event. |

and the two week villagers gathered to
greet the students in their "families" the typical
Swedish way for graduation--with signs bearing photos of
the graduates and flowers! |

villagers and staff gave talks and raised a "skål" to
the studenter for 4 weeks of work well done (earning
them one full year of high school foreign language
credit!) |

Bill, our head cook, for four weeks of fabulous
authentic Swedish food. |

what the Sjölunden

At the end of the night, the students
gathered in a circle with their teachers and counselors
to look at the poster they all signed the first night of
their credit experience four weeks ago. They had
been asked to write a word to describe what they had
hoped to gain from the credit experience.

Now that credit 2006 was coming to a
close, they had the chance to each share their word and
how it reflected what they had actually experienced. |
