Sjungom studentens lyckliga da'r!

Låtom oss fröjdas i ungdomens vår!

Än klappar hjärtat med friska slag

och den ljusnande framtid är vår.

Inga stormar än

i våra sinnen bo.

Hoppet är vår vän

och vi dess löften tro

när vi knyta förbund i den lund

Där de härliga lagrarna gro,

där de härliga lagrarna gro.  Hurra!

The many faces of Peter's språkgrupp!

It began to rain just as we took the flag down at aftonsamling.

However, the studenter came ready for graduation!

Martin still insisted we do a little yoga and chi

before the big event.

Studenter took the flag down for the last time . . .

and the two week villagers gathered to greet the students in their "families" the typical Swedish way for graduation--with signs bearing photos of the graduates and flowers!

We lined up excitedly waiting for their entrance!

HERE THEY COME!

Rakel and the sign her "family" made for her!

Gerda and Emma await the festivities!

Magda, our dean, with Sandra, the credit facilitator, and four of our fabulous 2006 credit teachers!

"Skål to the studenter," shouted their teachers!

Many villagers and staff gave talks and raised a "skål" to the studenter for 4 weeks of work well done (earning them one full year of high school foreign language credit!)

Magda congratulated Bill, our head cook, for four weeks of fabulous authentic Swedish food.

Tyra gets a hug from her brother, Edvin, who gave a very moving talk about what the Sjölunden experience has meant to him.

Odd, too,  reflects on his memories of Sjölunden.

After the disco, everyone gathered in a circle to sing

the last song:

♪ Se på oss nu ♪

Vi står här trots allt

och håller om varann

när det blåser kallt

Jag vet att vill kämpa

Jag vet att jag kan

Så länge vi har varann

At the end of the night, the students gathered in a circle with their teachers and counselors to look at the poster they all signed the first night of their credit experience four weeks ago.  They had been asked to write a word to describe what they had hoped to gain from the credit experience.

Now that credit 2006 was coming to a close, they had the chance to each share their word and how it reflected what they had actually experienced.

men att skiljas och möttes är hoppets sång"
