After the evening program, the credit villagers meet in the matsal to work on homework.
Then, Riksdagen and Skansen quietly came back to Stockholm to practice for their Lucia surprise and decorate the dining hall for Christmas (Jul) tomorrow. It took a while to get ready. |

Tyra had lots of help as she was getting ready to be Lucia.
And here she is!!! |

The tärnor attend Lucia.
The tomtar (elves) and pepparkaksgubbe served lussekatter (Lucia buns) to each villager.

. . .and finally, came the stjärngossar (star boys). |
We gathered on the stairs to practice and be on our way to the first cabin. |
Right outside the first cabin, we sing, "Sankta Lucia! Sankta Lucia!"

Once inside the cabin, we sing traditional songs that are centuries old and which tell the legends and praises of Lucia.
The tomtar, dressed in red, give out lussekatter or Lucia buns to the half-awake villagers.
Luciadagen is celebrated on December 13th in Sweden.
Dagmar was happy to wake up credit teacher, Greta!
and Axel even sang along with the credit boys playing stjärngossar.
Then Lucia (Tyra) led the entire group to the next cabin. (There was a lot of singing en route!) |
God natt, alla!
Tomorrow we'll celebrate jul (Christmas)! Life moves fast here at Sjölunden! |
