The typical journée at Lac du Bois begins around 8:00 when villagers emerge from their pavillons to get ready for the day.  Each day a different pavillon must take its turn at setting the tables.

By 8:30 the villagers head to Paris for a breakfast of muesli, yogurt, fruit, and freshly baked French goods.  During breakfast the theme of the day is announced and Super Francais presents awards to villagers who spoke seulement francais the day before.

With tummies full, villagers return to their pavillons and other various places around camp to do the day's chores.  The villagers must ranger leurs affairs, bailler, passer le respirateur et vider les poubelles.  The cleanest cabin is presented a prize!

This is a skit to introduce the new phrases of the day.

Villagers break into smaller groups during this time.  Those here for two weeks go to the Odyssées and those on the credit program head to their morning classes.

Two week villagers then go to a cultural activity connected with the theme of the Odyssée Linguistique.  Themes range from la cuisine to les sports.

Before each déjeuner the monos present a brief skit to introduce the food, incorporating the theme of the day.  There is always question to be answered before the villagers can pick up the food.

Then it's off to rest for an hour!

This is a time for the two week villages to answer questions about the theme of the day and reflect on what they've learned.  The credits meet during this time with their conversation groups.

These are different activities that the villagers choose.  Activities range from l'excrime to l'art to les jeux en plein air.

During free time villagers have the opportunity to visit les magasins, swim á la plage, visit Café Danielle, or participate in other activities offered that day.

Time to get all the news from home and maybe, if we're lucky, some homemade treats!

Before diner the villagers get to learn some new songs and then it's time for Lac du Bois' very own soap opera.  Every two weeks it's a new storyline with some wacky characters!

After diner la poste du Lac du Bois is delivered by a famous facteur.  If you've written a courier de coeur to someone at camp that's when it will be delivered. 

The day's theme is explored more during an evening activity with anything ranging from learning une danse quebecoise, to African story telling to acting out the UN.  Once every two weeks there is a soiree en pavillon for some cabin bonding.

What a way to end the day by sitting down by the plage, around the feu de camp, and singing songs. Each pavillon is sent to bed with the song Bon Soir Les Loups.

After a brief discussion about our day, it's time for lumières éteinte.
