Day Twelve
July 25, 2003
Tonight was our closing ceremony for the first session. Kate and Liv handed out certificates and pins to all of the departing villagers, including Jessica. |
As part of the ceremony, the whole village stood up front to perform some of our favorite songs for our audience of host families and Concordia employees. |
A talent show was also part of the evening's festivities. Here, Alaska starts the show off with a skit about a cowboy seeking vengeance. |
Mary's act was a mesmerizing card trick. Patricia was randomly selected from the audience to assist Mary. Molly and Bart also performed card tricks. |
| Caitlin and Julia did a skit called "Amelia." That's Caitlin's head and Julia's legs you see. |
Patricia loves to dance! No wonder she did just that for the talent show. |
| Here, Angie, Lily, Jessica and
Alicia perform a skit written and directed by Barbara. The girls
played friends chatting in the bathroom about their boyfriends. The skit was called "Surprise" because, in the end, the girls realized they're all dating the same boy! |
Caitlin, the emcee for the evening, also hosted a "freak show" in which Ryan, Kate, and Harrison showed off their peculiar talents. |
| Here, Andrew shows off his unbelievable talent: Unicycling! He put on a show complete with music and tricks. It was very impressive! | |
| Two of our villagers performed pieces for us on the piano. |
Below are Jasmine and Adam. |
Many villagers and staff dressed up for the closing ceremony. Some of the boys gelled their hair for the special occasion. Shown here are Max and Ryan from Virginia and Sean, Adam, Frank and Harrison from Massachusetts. |
| To conclude the evening, villagers and staff enjoyed a dance! |
Molly and Stella took a break from dancing to learn a new card trick. |
| Angel was our DJ for the evening.
The kids loved the music he played! |
It was a fun-filled evening for everyone and a great way to end a truly memorable session! |
