Day Five
July 18th, 2003
One of this morning's activities was Clay Bead Making. Using modeling clay, Jessica, Hailey, Rachel, Jasmine, Will, and Max prepare their creations for the oven. |
The weather was perfect this morning for a Volleyball activity! |
Liv and Heather taught the villagers English while setting and spiking. |
Mary reads a letter. Every day at lunch, ELV mail is delivered by "Matt the Mailman." There was plenty of mail today from villagers and staff. |
In preparation for an upcoming Evening Program, Kate shares the book "Peter Pan" with her Neighborhood. |
The kids are very excited to see Peter Pan performed by the Gooseberry Park Players tomorrow night! |
Some villagers work quietly in the library on a Neighborhood video project. Each villager was assigned part of a newscast. They must brainstorm ideas, write their scripts, then film their segments. |
Stella is hard at work in Heather's afternoon Sock Puppet making activity. This activity was very popular and turned out some beautiful results. |
Villagers make sock puppets with Heather. Alicia looks stylish in a sombrero. |
In Molly's afternoon football activity, the kids get a taste of a true American pastime. |
Before going swimming as our evening program, we had a water balloon toss. |
The villagers had a great time catching the balloons, especially when they burst! Here, Jessica and Emma do their best to catch balloons, while Lily ducks. |
Everyone enjoyed the activity, and afterwards, we got to go swimming! |
