Hometown Europe

English Language Village in Europe Opens for 2003!

Hometown Europe is now in its second year of operation at IBM's Novedrate training facility near Milan, Italy. Hometown Europe currently has 100 villagers and 25 staff members who teach English in an innovative, immersive environment.

Our program is a cooperation between Concordia Language Villages and IBM. Our students are from Denmark, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Poland, Russia, and Spain.

Our Town
Each day at Hometown Europe we simulate a real city! Each villager belongs to either the City Council, the Chamber of Commerce, the Fine Arts Commission, Media, or the Park and Recreation Board. We even have our own currency, known as the "Homey."

Villagers
Our villagers come from a diverse array of countries and backgrounds. Many have fundamental English abilities and many have advanced English experience.

Staff
Our nearly 25 staff members speak English fluently, and most natively. Counselors are called upon daily to be teachers, actors, musicians, artists, and planners.

Schools
Each "School" of ten students is led by one instructor and stays busy learning challenging games, studying music, writing stories, or acting out plays. We're constantly learning!

Streets
At Hometown Europe each villager lives on a "Street" named after a famous street in the English-speaking world. We are lucky to have top-notch accomodations in IBM's Novedrate training facility.
