Dagliga Bilder 2008!

GODMORGON, SJÖLUNDEN!!

Vi börjar morgonen med flagghissning. Det är ju so-so-soligt, ro-ro-roligt, här på Sjölunden!

We begin each morning with flag raising. It's su-su-sunny, fu-fu- fun (ny?) here at Sjölunden!

Vad sa du?

Jag sa, VASA!

(The cheer for the 'VASA' family.)

We reviewed the alfabet at flagghissning by calling out letters. When the letter "L" was called out, Lydia, Linnea, and Lina got to go to frukost.
"Ja, vi är hungriga!"
"Hej, vi är också hungriga!"

ABBA var med under frukost. Vilka kläder!

ABBA joined us for breakfast. Check out those rags!

Today's "dagens fras" (the phrase of the day) was "ingen aning," which means "I have NO idea!"

We took our traditional first week picture of all the credit villagers. This year we have 37 villagers who are in the credit progrm. They get a full year's foreign language credit for their experience with us!

Språkgrupp!

Fånga bollen, och svara på frågan.

Catch the ball, and answer the question.

The ledare (counselors) use all different methods to teach svenska.

Vilgot och Livs grupp träffas vid fika borden.

Vilgot and Liv's group meets at the cafe tables.

Studenterna har fika varje morgon.

The Credit Students have coffee break each morning.

Kan jag få jos?

May I have the juice?

We have "kort fritid" (short free time) in the morning. Some of the villagers get a game of ultimate frisbee or kubb going.

The Portuguese teachers from our newest language village visited us to day to study some of what goes on at our village. Notice that one of the counselors from the Portugese camp started playing frisbee, too!

Victor (and so many others) loves to play "KUBB."

Check out those wild animals in the woods!

Oops ! It's only a few villagers!

Look! It's Tina and Alice!

The flickor practice their form for KUBB.

No practice for these guys. The pojkar just really want to play!

Some of the flickor were practicing the phrases they need to buy something in the kiosk later in the day. "Jag vill kopa" means "I would like to buy . . ."

Look where the intercamp mail (snyggpost) goes!

Here we are writing snyggpost to surprise some lucky staff or vilagers!

Malin och Lydia visit Emilia in front of the kiosk.

ABBA came back for lunch . . .

This time they did the "kyckling" dance.

After lunch and tupplur, we came back for a second helping of language class and crafts and and fun with our new friends.

Mattias and Magda share a hearty laugh!

Time to take down the flag!

Today is Tekla's 12th birthday! We sang a special song for her!
ABBA returned yet again during MIDDAG to help us present the meal.

Linda told the two-week villagers it was time to reveal the new name of our head cook, Chase. All the two-week villagers submitted ideas for names. Chase read through all of them and made a decision.

He chose the name "RAGNAR," which was the name August suggested. Ragnar honored August by making a special cook's apron for him.

Tonight's evening program was called "Fia med knuff!" Villagers came up to the matsal and found 4 huge lifesize FIA gameboards.

Here's what the actual FIA game looks like.

Here's our version of the FIA board.

Villagers first met on the dansbana to make colored hats to identify the teams.

Alf, Åsa, and Johanna were ready to provide tape in case the board needed repair in the middle of the game!

Ready,

set,

play!

God natt, alla!

Vilken rolig dag!
