What should villagers bring?
You will receive a packing list, but think comfort, because this is the Villages! Be prepared for all kinds of weather: shorts, t-shirts, jeans, swimwear, rain jacket. Bring clothes that you don’t mind getting a little dirty during outdoor activities and one nicer outfit for festivals and dances. Pack your toothbrush, shampoo and sunscreen, along with your own bedding and towels. You can also find information on what to pack here.
Do villagers need to bring money?
It’s not necessary, but a little spending money for the stores is a good way to also practice the language. A Village bank will exchange money for the currency used in each Village, such as euros at Waldsee or Yuan at Sēn Lín Hú. Each Village has a store for snacks, soda, Village t-shirts and cultural souvenirs. Any remaining money will be returned to villagers at the end of their session. Please see our parent handbook for recommendations on spending money.
Do you have high chairs and cribs available for Family Weeks?
No; please bring a travel crib and a portable high chair, if needed. Toddlers need to be able to sleep in a twin bed on their own (otherwise please bring a travel crib), and will be allowed only in the lower-level bunk beds.
