Meet the Dean
Eric Dario Dregni is dean of Lago del Bosco, the Italian Language Village. Dario has an M.F.A. in creative writing and an M.A. in Italian from the University of Minnesota. He has a B.A. in music, with an English minor, from Macalester College in St. Paul. Prior to that, he studied in Brescia, Italy. He has spent more than four years in Italy (Brescia, Milan and Modena) and a year in Norway on a Fulbright fellowship.
Dario has been a teaching assistant in Italian and in creative writing at the University of Minnesota; he was a TA for Garrison Keillor’s class “Composition of Comedy.” He is a freelance writer and travel writer. Among Dario’s published books are “Weird Minnesota” (2006), “In Cod We Trust” (2008), “Never Trust a Thin Cook” (2009) and “Vikings in the Attic” (2011). Dario’s first summer with Concordia Language Villages was summer 2007, his first summer as dean as well. In the early ‘90s, he was a staff member at a pilot American camp in France, started by a retired Concordia Language Village associate.
