Scholarship Forms
Passport Fund Scholarships only support summer youth programs, the summer Finnish family week and the Language Discovery Programs.
All scholarships are made possible by donations from current and former villagers, parents, friends, cultural organizations, businesses, foundations and current and former staff members. We are grateful to all who support the scholarship fund.
• In 2010, 575 villagers received Passport Fund Scholarships from Concordia Language Villages.
• Approximately 60% of the total scholarship applicant pool receives scholarships.
• About 85% of scholarships go to families with an AGI under $40,000
• The average recipient's adjusted gross income (AGI) is $25,000.
• Applicants will be notified by April 1, 2011.
• If you wish to cancel your registration based on financial constraints, your deposit will be refunded when we receive notification from you by April 30, 2010. Cancellations after April 30 will be assessed a cancellation fee. The complete payment policies are noted on the youth registration form.
Language Discovery Program Scholarships are available for Pre-K Programs in Chinese, Japanese, Norwegian, Spanish and Swedish.
Summer youth scholarships are available for ALL languages. Please use the Passport Fund Scholarship application. Please indicate any particular scholarship of interest on this application. The majority of scholarships are need-based awards. Need is determined through a calculation that considers family size and adjusted gross income (AGI). We encourage all families who have financial need to apply. The Passport Fund includes the following scholarships:

Norske Torske Klubben Scholarships for Skovsøen, Salolampi, Skogfjorden and Sjölunden: priority given to Norske Torske Klubben members; essay required; use Norske Torske Klubben application
Sons of Norway - District 1 Scholarships for Skovsøen, Salolampi, Skogfjorden and Sjölunden: available to children or grandchildren of Sons of Norway members; use Sons of Norway, District 1 application
Salolampi Foundation Scholarships for Salolampi: available to all Salolampi villagers; use Salolampi application
Tove Irene Dahl Scholarship for Skogfjorden: available to villagers who have attended Skogfjorden for five or more years; use Tove Irene Dahl Scholarship application
American Swedish Institute Scholarships for Sjölunden: available to American Swedish Institute (ASI) members of the household level; for membership information contact the American Swedish Institute; use the ASI scholarship application
Minnesota Finnish-American Historical Society (MFAHS) for Salolampi and Soiva: available to MFAHS Family Membership holders. First time villagers will receive an initial $200 for the first week and $100 for each additional week. Returning villagers will receive $100 per week. Applications must be postmarked by April 30th. Use the MFAHS scholarship application
