Like a trip abroad, right here at home!  Boost your language as you enjoy the activities and cuisine of the cultures you love this spring break. Designed for students in grades 6-12, these one-week programs are the perfect opportunity for school groups and individuals to put their language into practice during the academic year.  

                        

The theme for the Spring Break Villages this year is “Explore!” Participants will strengthen their oral, aural and written language skills as they try new cultural activities, enjoy new foods and meet new friends. This intensive program is appropriate for beginners, proficient speakers and everyone in between. Participants are matched with others who have a similar language level for their small language learning group period, yet cabin groups are gender and age specific. 

                  

Spring Break Villages are led by native speakers. All of our staff are experienced teachers well versed in the language immersion pedagogy of Concordia Language Villages. Our villager  to counselor ratio is 10:1. Teachers accompanying school groups have a supervisory role and will be asked to participate in the program as needed. 

  

March 7-13, 2010: Chinese and Spanish 

March 14-20, 2010: Chinese and German

March 21-27, 2010: Spanish and Japanese

March 28-April 3, 2010: Spanish and French

April 5-11, 2010: Spanish and Chinese 

               

Concordia Language Villages at The Forest is an international retreat center complete with 10 miles of hiking trails. Cabins are located in dorm-style buildings built in the 1980's, complete with multiple lounges and fireplaces. The Village is located in Marine on St Croix, Minn. just 45 minutes northeast of the Minneapolis-St Paul International Airport. Shuttle service form the airport is available for $50 round-trip.
