Norwegian Adventure Day CampLocation: Norwegian Language Village on Turtle River Lake near Bemidji, Minn.
Schedule: Tuesday-Friday; 9:00 am - 5:15 pm
With a passport in hand, your child will join a whole new world of adventure at Skogfjorden, the authentic Norwegian Language Village!
Norwegians love to explore — we’ve been doing it for centuries! Explore with us at and see what you find: perhaps a message from the Vikings, a secret bålplass (campfire) for preparing pinnebrød on a stick, perhaps a polar bear, perhaps the nøkken troll under a bridge, or perhaps even the largest paper clip you have ever seen.
Every day is different, but we’ll always be exploring. Most explorations happen outdoors, so come prepared — dressed to go anywhere at any time!

Twin Cities (Village Explorers) Day Camp
Twin Cities Day Camps are a great introduction to language, and a wonderful precursor to our overnight programs. These programs are held at various locations throughout the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area. Utilizing our unique teaching methods, Twin Cities Day Camps include art, music, games and snacks to introduce the youngest learners to language and culture.
The festivities have begun! Russefeiring (“russ celebration”) is a traditional celebration for Norwegian students celebrating the end of their studies and the beginning of something new. Streets are filled with fun and mischief, as students in caps and overalls earn knots in their cap tassels for completing silly challenges. They have theme days (like hero day and pajama day), exchange russekort (russ cards), and drive around in specially decorated russebiler (russ vans). Campers will become part of the fun festivities! They may design their own russebil for the syttende mai parade, create a russerop (russ cheer), or take part in a variety show. And they will do it all in Norwegian! Whether one is new to the language or an experienced speaker, Concordia Language Villages invites all campers to become part the festivities as they learn and use Norwegian. Velkommen til oss!
