Where is the summer session for the Masters Program held?
The summer session is held on the campus of Bemidji State University, Bemidji, Minnesota.  Bemidji is located 241 miles north of Minneapolis, 151 miles east of the Fargo/Moorhead area.  Northwest Airlines flies into Bemidji.

Visit the Bemidji Chamber of Commerce Web site for information about the area:  www.visitbemidji.com.   Please note that on the last two days of the summer session (July 28 and 29), cohort members travel to Concordia College, Moorhead, Minn., to meet with the online course instructors and with thesis advisors.  At the end of the orientation, the cohort members may return to Bemidji or may leave for home directly from Moorhead.  The orientation session ends at 3 p.m. on July 29.

Do you have to be a current world language teacher in order to enroll in the Masters Program?
It is not a requirement to be currently teaching; however, the courses will be especially meaningful if you are currently teaching or have taught in the past.  Current and past classroom experiences give you a frame of reference for discussions and assignments.

Is the Masters Program conducted in English?
Yes, the Masters Program attracts teachers of all world languages so the classes are conducted in English.  During your stay in Bemidji, you will spend time at the Language Villages located 10 miles outside of Bemidji where you will have the opportunity to interact in the languages you speak.  Transportation will be provided for these visits.

What is the deadline for applying to the Masters Program?
Applications will be reviewed beginning March 1; after March 1, applications will continue to be accepted and reviewed until the cohort is filled.    Email graduate@cord.edu for the status of your application.

You will be housed in Linden Suites, a newly renovated dorm on the campus of Bemidji State University.  The dorm is configured into two or three person suites with a shared bathroom for each suite.  You will have a private bedroom space with a twin bed.  There is wireless Internet and data ports.  It is very helpful to bring an Ethernet cable if you have one….just in case!  The rooms are air-conditioned.   The dorm is located across the street from Lake Bemidji.  Towels and bedding are provided.

Where do we eat?
Meals are provided on campus at the Newman Center.  The cooks are hired by Concordia Language Villages and will serve an international menu.  A continental breakfast is served every morning.  Lunch is at noon and supper is at 6 p.m.  Special dietary needs can be accommodated with advance notice to educators@cord.edu.
