About Village Productions

We aim to incorporate technology into our programs while at the same time maintaining the full-sensory learning and surround-sound language immersion environment present at all our sites. Over the last few years, deans, counselors, and our tech team have developed Village-specific Web pages, called "Village Pages," that capture in photographs and video day-to-day Village activities and villager progress.  Parents have responded positively, thrilled to have this window into their child’s language experience.

Behind the scenes a number of key individuals help make this Village Production window active and engaging. In an effort to encourage each Village to find creative ways to share the experience, we encourage counselor to track Village activities and collect photographs and video footage. Many times these counselors are also responsible for running activities, formulating simulations, and helping to create the language filled and cultural environment your child absorbs in the time they spend with us. In some Villages, the older or credit-villagers are involved in language-focused film-making activities and are able to put creations they have directed on the Village Web site.

Of course, members of our tech unit are crucial players in getting the sites up, helping to ensure consistency, assisting less tech savvy staff members, and providing a protective and secure environment online for our Language Village community.

We hope you enjoy these Web pages. We will continue to strengthen these outreach efforts and welcome comments and feedback to help guide our development in this area. The Village Pages are updated often and throughout the summer.  They are filled with pictures and provide a way to check in on your child and be assured that he or she is having a lot of fun.
