Why learn Arabic?
· Because you’re on the cutting edge. The study of Arabic in the United States is on the rise, but educators and national leaders agree that there is a great need for more citizens to learn about the Arabic language and the cultures of the Arab world. The knowledge you gain at Concordia Language Villages will give you sought-after skills and perspective.
· Because you want to prepare for your future. Whether your interest is world affairs, business, or history, knowing Arabic will give you valuable and useful skills you’ll draw on again and again. Your knowledge of Arabic will also be a unique and impressive credential for any college application or job interview. And your appreciation for other languages and cultures will last a lifetime.
· Because you want to connect with your past. Maybe your ancestors came from the Arab speaking world. Maybe you want to gain a better understanding for ancient civilizations that shaped our modern world. The language and cultural understanding you gain at Al-Wāḥa will give you a new appreciation for world history, and maybe give you a new understanding of your own family’s history, too.
· Because you like having fun! Where else can you try out belly dancing one day and enjoy traditional camping favorites like canoeing, swimming, and volleyball the next? At Al-Wāḥa, you’ll enjoy the elegance of authentic cultural celebrations and the classic camaraderie of campfire songs, making new friends and enjoying new experiences at every turn.
