German Ambassador Visits Waldsee

In July 2007, Dr. Klaus Scharioth, German Ambassador to the United States, arrived at Waldsee.  Admitting a visit to Waldsee was on his “must do” list, Ambassador Scharioth noted in his remarks the importance of language learning.  During his visit, he was treated to a rock concert by the villagers and led a simulation of the J8 summit, a version of the G8 summit which is used as an educational tool for youth.  The Ambassador became one of the community and enjoyed the hospitality of the Waldsee villagers and staff, joining them in meals, songs and play.
