Ideal for an international student preparing to study at a U.S. college or university, Collegetown is designed to help prepare students academically, socially and culturally for a smooth transition to a new and exciting academic adventure. This program also provides an outstanding opportunity to increase fluency, confidence and vocabulary through the wide array of exciting activities, lessons and programs.

Collegetown combines the dynamic and proven language and culture educational pedagogies of Concordia College and Concordia Language Villages. Emphasis is on both academic learning and the experiential activities that help provide context and positive reinforcement for deep language learning.

Students live in comfortable residence halls on the Concordia College campus and have the opportunity to become familiar with college life. Students also learn about the local community, U.S. families, local government and campus life.

The Collegetown instructors are a unique blend of college professors, Concordia Language Villages leadership staff and other native English speakers who want to help international students succeed in the U.S. The staff to student ratio is 1:5. All staff are trained in language and cultural immersion methodology, a pedagogy for which Concordia Language Villages has been recognized nationally and internationally.
