Staff

Each member of the Concordia Language Villages staff plays a vital role in carrying out the program’s mission “to prepare people for responsible citizenship in our global society.” This mission is furthered by staff members in every position, whether they be director, marketer, support staff, dean, counselor, healthcare provider or cook.

Native speakers and American language professionals help make total immersion possible. More than 1,200 summer staff positions create a 1:5 staff-villager ratio. Each Language Village hires and trains counselors, program leaders, credit teachers, healthcare workers, and kitchen staff.

Our staff are active professionals. The deans and most leadership staff have lived for an extended period of time in countries where the language they instruct is spoken. Eighty percent of the deans hold an advanced degree. Many deans have a history of holding office in national, regional and state language and educational organizations. Our staff presents at local and national language conferences, as well as the national ACA conference, and is active in the local ACA section.

Nursing personnel are members and leaders of the Association of Camp Nurses.
