Michael Rubida

Michael Ryuuma Rubida is dean of Mori no Ike, Dent, the Japanese Language Village. Ryuuma has been on staff at Concordia Language Villages for two years. In addition to being a fluent speaker of Japanese, he has a basic knowledge of Japanese sign language.

Michael earned his B.A. in Japanese from the University of Minnesota and completed a two-year intensive course at Sophia University in Tokyo, Japan. He earned K-12 certification in teaching Japanese (minor in sociology) at Eastern Michigan University. He taught in the Detroit Public Schools for two years, and he is now teaching at South Lyon High School in Michigan. In addition, he is an adjunct instructor of Japanese at Oakland Community College in Michigan.
