Liv Halaas

Liv Nadia HalaasLiv Nadia Halaas is dean of El Lago del Bosque - Callaway (first half), the Spanish Language Village. Nadia's Concordia Language Village experience began when she was 14, her first of five summers as a villager. She worked as a counselor, two-week facilitator, and credit teacher at Spanish-Bemidji. She was a member of the inaugural team that launched Argentina abroad. In addition, she has written curriculum for the Spanish two-week program.

Nadia earned her B.A. in secondary education and Spanish at Concordia College. As an undergraduate, she studied at the Universidad de Navarra, Pamplona, Spain. She is currently in her second year of an M.A. program in Hispanic linguistics at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, where she also teaches undergraduate Spanish courses and serves as curriculum coordinator for nine other Spanish-teaching graduate student colleagues.

She worked as Spanish teacher at Needham High School, Needham, Mass., 2004-2007; she co-led service- and language-learning trips to Costa Rica.
