Susanne Barrett-Smith

Susanne Ilse Barrett-Smith is the dean of German Study Abroad. Ilse earned her bachelor’s degree in German education and English education at Concordia College, Moorhead, Minn., and has lived in Germany for a total of 12 years. She has been involved with the Congress-Bundestag High School Exchange Program for seven years as a participant and orientation leader in both Washington, D.C., and Tübingen, Germany.
 
Ilse recently completed research at the University of Frankfurt through the Fulbright Fellowship Program. She teaches German at the high school level in Denver, Colorado. She has been on staff at Concordia Language Villages for seven years.
