El Lago del Bosque Callaway and Mar e Floresta are located at the Maplelag resort which is near the village of Callaway in rural northwest Minnesota. The gently rolling terrain is lightly to moderately wooded interspersed with family farms and country businesses. Callaway is 11 miles north of the tourist-friendly town of Detroit Lakes where vacationers take advantage of restaurants, hotels, resorts and a one-mile long sandy beach.

Climate
Minnesota is typical of a continental climate. The North Woods of Minnesota experiences the widest variety of weather in the United States. Each of the four seasons has its own distinct characteristics. Although summers are generally hot and humid, it is normal to experience rain showers, thunderstorms and cool nights. Summer temperatures average 85 F but can get down to 55 F, so keep that in mind while packing!
About Maplelag
Maplelag is a destination cross-country ski resort and conference center located on Little Sugarbush Lake. Maplelag began hosting Concordia Language Villages in 1976. Russian, Swedish, Chinese, Finnish, French and Spanish Villages have all been hosted throughout the years. For eleven weeks each summer, Maplelag is shut down as a cross country ski resort and conference center and the entire facility transforms into a Concordia Language Village. Owners Mary and Jim Richards are constantly building and upgrading the facilities to meet the needs of both the Villages and their resort.
