What Happens at International Day?

During the International Day Festival, villagers participate in a variety of activities, games and presentations. The goal is to share the language and culture of their village with others.  Through dance, art, cooking and play, intercultural exchange of teach-learn-do is ongoing throughout the day. More information about any of these activities as well as any additional activities will be present at the Information Booth during I-Day.  See the outline of our 2018 schedule below.  

Peace Site Gathering

Concordia Language Villages is one of 750 Peace Sites designationed by World Citizen Inc., a Minneapolis-based organization. Located near the entrance of Skogfjorden, our Peace Site contains peace poles that read: “May Peace Prevail on Earth” in our 15 Village languages.

The 11:30 Shuttle begins between Turtle River Community Center (TRCC) and Peace Site. 11:45 Peace Site Rededication Degustation. A Chinese appetizer will be served. 12:15 Peace Site Rededication happens.

Visitors will be welcome to the Peace Site at 11:30 a.m. Join us for International Day festivities when doors open at Waldsee at 12:45 p.m.
