International Day 2018: July 6 and August 10

Everyone is welcome at International Day! International Day is a gathering of nearly 2,000 villagers, staff, parents and guests. It is also a day that we welcome back former villagers and staff and invite them to “renew their passports” by reliving some of their favorite memories.

What is International Day?

Getting to International Day

International Day takes place at Waldsee, the German Language Village. Free shuttle service is available for the public from the Turtle River Community Center, located near the entrance to the Concordia Language Villages Turtle River Lake sites. Parking lot opens at noon for early arrivals and those needing handicapped parking.  Shuttles begin at 12:45 p.m. to Waldsee and back.

New 2018 International Day schedule is coming this week! Please check back in.

Important International Day Information

FIRST AID: Nurses are on duty to handle emergency medical needs at the first-aid station located in the Bosch Health Center on the north end of the Marktplatz.

INFORMATION/LOST & FOUND: The Information Booth is located at the entrance of Waldsee. If you have any questions about International Day or Concordia Language Villages programs and activities, please inquire at the Information Booth. Lost and found items will also be located at the Information Booth.

WATER: Two drinking fountains and four water bottle refill stations are available around the International Day site. We encourage the use of reusable water bottles, but disposable cups for water are also available at the Information Booth. Reusable water bottles from each Village can be purchased at the International Bazaar, and bottled water can be purchased
at the International Café.

LAVATORIES: Portable blue lavatories are placed around the International Day site.

“WHERE IN THE WORLD?” MESSAGE CENTER: Near the information booth on the Marktplatz is a large, cylindrical message stand. Arrange to meet your friends and family here or leave notes for each other.

RECYCLING: Learn the German recycling system by using the colorful plastic bins throughout the site, which are marked with what items are accepted in each container. Recycling receptacles for aluminum cans and plastic bottles are marked and located throughout the site next to regular trash receptacles.

NO PETS: We’re sorry, but pets are not allowed on our site.

Each year, generous individuals, foundations, corporations and organizations support the Passport Fund, Village Vision Fund and Leadership Fund, as well as capital campaigns and other special projects at Concordia Language Villages.

Nearly 15 percent of villagers at all 15 Language Villages receive scholarships to support their attendance. For more information on how you can support Concordia Language Villages, visit or call 800.222.4750.
