This year, we had a Bundestagswahl (election) here in Waldsee. Our two Studis (college credit villagers), Felix and Willibald, helped to plan the election. They wrote this blog post about what happened.

Yesterday we celebrated a day with Lesnoe Ozero, the Russian camp. Activities included a simulation, a song exchange, and a Fest. Check it out!
Yesterday, we spent our day learning all about Martin Luther and the 30 Years War. Of course, we didn’t do this by sitting in a lecture hall and listening to the facts. Instead, we lived them. At Gesang (singing time), the counselors started teaching the wrong words to one of the songs. Instead of the song being about how much we love Waldsee, it was about how the kids should pay the counselors in Gummibärchen (gummy bears) to get out of Toilettendienst (toilet cleaning...
On our second night in Waldsee, we almost always have an Abendprogramm (evening program) that involves running all over camp so that the kids can figure out how to get around. Last night, we took that idea pretty literally and played a game based on the German public transportation system: Das U-Bahn Spiel (the subway game).
Yesterday was Ankunftstag here in Waldsee! We were so excited to welcome new batches of Ts (one week villagers), KTs (two week villagers), and LKTs (four week villagers).
