"Color" was the key word for yesterday’s Fest der Farben (festival of colors)! Instead of eating in the Gasthof (inn) as we usually do, there was a Straßenfest (street festival) on the Marktplatz (market place)! Villagers were able to go to various stalls and get foods like Döner and Currywurst but were also able to play games and get their faces painted. But that wasn’t all! Today, villagers chose between 4 potential day schedules at Waldsee, with the winner being the schedule we would adhere to today! Take a look at what villagers were able to do today.
At Waldsee last night, many dressed up in a Dirndl or Lederhosen to celebrate the well-known Oktoberfest of Germany. We snacked on foods such as Bretzeln (pretzels), Bratwurst, Sauerkraut, and drank Wurzelbier (root beer). We also learned how to dance Polka, among other Waldsee dances. Villagers had an opportunity this week to try out the Sinnespfad (sensory adventure course). The villagers went through a course in the woods while not being able to use their Gesichtssin (eyesight). They had to rely on their other senses, for example touch or hearing. The villagers walked barefoot through a course with different textures on the ground, such as rocks or sticks. They also had to rely on their partner to tell them when they were getting off...
