Friday was I-Tag a huge celebration of all camps coming together. The villagers have plenty of stories about learning different cultures, songs, games and food, beginning with a song exchange with Sen Lin Hu (Chinese), El Lago del Bosque (Spanish), and Mar e Floresta (Portugese). Then, we paraded on the Markplatz for the opening ceremonies.
The different villages' stores were all open around the Marktplatz, as well as food from other programs. Many of our villagers participated in the triathalon, Global Summit (a program similar to Model UN), Dragonfly Story Hour, the Iron Chef competition, and the World Cup competition. El Lago del Bosque stayed with us to dance after the closing ceremonies happened!
After we said goodbye to our international friends, Waldsee came back together in cabins to see how much we have learned together. Das Hausspiel is a variation of the Newlywed Game, where Hausbetreuer were put in a different room from their cabin and asked to answer a series of questions about themselves and the cabin. Who snores the loudest? Who is the latest sleeper? Who has the most bunt underwear? Cabins won points by having the same answer as the other Hausbetreuer, and we had a lot of laughs in the process to end camp on a high note.
