Fest der Farben

Published: August 9, 2017

We had an absolutely crazy (yet amazing) night last night! Just as we all gathered for Abendkreis (evening circle) it started to pour down rain. We thought we were going to have to resort to Plan B, but the rain stopped almost as soon as it had started and a beautiful rainbow came out. And so the show went on!

We starting our evening out with a relatively chill Festessen (festival meal) and a few Spiele (games) and loads of tanzen (dancing) along with it.

After dinner, the whole camp was divided up into Mannschaften (teams) based on color and made T-shirts to show their team spirit.

Then, it was down to the Strand (beach) to cheer on their team representatives in the Pappekanurennen (cardboard boat races)! Both LKT MINT (STEM credit villagers) and KT Grüne Welle (two week nature adventure villagers) built boats during the day and then raced them to see who would come out on top!

Once the races were vorbei (done), the Farbelauf (color run) began! All of Waldsee ran around the whole camp and was absolutely covered in color by the end. Of course, we weren’t done yet! At the end of the course, we all gathered next to the BioHaus. Und dann ging es richtig los! And then it really started!

Finally, we all went back down to the Strand (beach) and up to Baden Baden (our outdoor shower) to wash off the color. What an amazing day in Waldsee!
