Alumni Spotlight: Meet Bine!

Published: October 3, 2019

As we gear up for the 60th summer at Waldsee, get to know some long-time members of the Waldsee community! This week, meet Bine!  Bine has come to Waldsee as both a counselor and a camper since 2005, and has participated in lots of aspects of Waldsee life, from the high school credit program to leadership staff!

Karnival der Kulturen

How did you find out about Waldsee?

I got a pamphlet in the mail!

What made you come back to Waldsee year after year?

The friendships I made. I came back for four years as a camper to see my friends year after year, and the same was true when I worked as a counselor. Some of my closest and longest friends are ones I met at Waldsee.

Rock AG Konzert

What did you look forward to the most each year?

I look forward to familiar faces and unplugging from reality for a bit. I loved learning and practicing my German, dancing at the Diskos, sitting on the dock at the beach, and eating Semmel mit Salami und Käse (bread roll with meat and cheese).

What's something that's different now than your first year at Waldsee?

My German language level (for the better!)

Counselors

What's your favorite Waldsee Lied?

Either Roter Mond or Fahrrad fahren.

Best snack at Cafe Einbeck?

CHIPS!

Meet Bine and other members of the Waldsee community from throughout the years at our 60th Anniversary Alumni Weekend, July 17-19!
