Why Learn German? - What our Villagers have to say. We asked
[gallery]It is a great tradition in Berlin to celebrate multi-kulti Strassenfeste. A mixture of different cultures who are living in Berlin and all over Germany celebrating on the streets together, having different cultural food, music, dances and games and so we decided to do the same in Waldsee this year. Our Schlamasselgasse turned into a party zone with many stations! There were different food stands with Döner, Currywurst mit Pommes und Flammkuchen and different activities taken...
Wednesday night was a great Oktoberfest in Waldsee. Many people were dressed up and everyone was ready to dance. Before dinner we learned to polka and dance the disco fox. Then we ate wurst and drank root beer outside the Gasthof.
It is important in any language to know how to order food. So that we can practice, last night we had a Japanese restaurant in the Gasthof. Everyone chose a group to eat dinner with and called to make a reservation (Auf Deutsch of course!). Then we all dressed up and headed out.
Excitement is in the air- the counselors are returning to orientation to prepare for villager arrivals and summer sessions. They are happy to see their friends again and are settling in to the seminars that will help them to make this the best summer yet! Jun 4, 2011
