In Case You Missed Them: Highlights of 2021

Published: December 22, 2021

As we reach the close of the year, we hope you find some time to relax, have a cup of something warm, curl up by the fire and catch up on some reading. Here are some of the highlights of the WorldView Blog from 2021, in case you missed these interesting posts.

Be sure to follow our inaugural Dietrich Fellow, Evva Fenja Parsons, as she navigates the world. Here are her first two posts: Transit and Arrivals and Flock of Stories, House of Words.

The alumni of Concordia Language Villages do amazing things, like Solveig who is an aerialist in a circus in Portugal , Della who hosts her own podcast on regenerative economics, Nick who helped work toward the eradication of guinea worm disease with the Carter Center in Chad, and Betsy who has taught English and supported other teachers of English in many different countries. Read their stories and perspectives on being at work in the world!

We’ve all endured many twists and turns with COVID. It has not been easy, but we’ve also learned to live with the curveballs that the pandemic has thrown us. Skogfjorden dean Tove Dahl shows how we can still communicate effectively while being masked. Many of us turned to teaching virtually, and Maddie Flom-Staab provides a glimpse into the online Waldsee world, as does Meredith Hansen for Mori no Ike. And then we realized that we could return to camp, safely and securely.

It has been an eventful year, and we are proud of what the Concordia Language Villages Global Family has accomplished, both at camp and around the world. We wish you a happy and healthy 2022!
