Spotlight: Credit Villager Documentary
Published: March 28, 2018
The villagers that take on the four-week credit program challenge are truly amazing! They cram so much learning into one month! It may leave you wondering, “How do they do it?”
At Lac du Bois Bemidji, one of the ways they make those gains is through stage crédit. The stage crédit (credit internship) is a one or two-week long creative group project. Villagers choose the theme based on their interests - a bit like an elective class - and meet with their peers once a day for collaboration.
This past summer, villagers in stage crédit documentaire conducted interviews with staff and peers to illustrate the various reasons people are passionate about languages and why they come to camp. They planned their project, conducted interviews, and selected the best clips for the documentary - using multiple modes of communication in French and experiencing several ACTFL World-Readiness Standards for Learning Languages all in one project!
Please watch the documentary! As you listen, try to find some common themes as well as unique ideas in the different answers they gathered.
Grand merci à tous les villageois qui ont créé ce documentaire! Their research also contributed to our newest French poster: Why Learn French.
