Saturday was the closing day for the one and two week villagers. We are sad to see them go, but hope to see them again next year!
Saturday morning began as usual, with wake up, raising the flag, and breakfast. Then, we cleaned our cabins and packed up before the closing program! Parents came, we sang songs, and villagers got their certificates. Afterwards, the store was open to parents, and villagers and parents mingled and exchanged contact information.
After the last parent had left, the videregående received their contraband for the weekend! After lunch, Skovsøen headed into town. They visited the humane society and the laundromat, and explored Bemidji. For dinner, staff and villagers ate at a Thai restaurant. Back at Skovsøen, the credits watched Monty Python (Television in English! How exciting!).
Sunday was hyggeligt, with a late wake up, sauna time, and attending a film festival with many other credits at Lac du Bois. Two new staff members also arrived! Naaja, a long time staff member, who will be working with our one- and two- week villagers, and Jacob, our credit teacher from Denmark, finally arrived!
The credits had to give up their contraband at the end of the weekend. Also, we had to say good bye to some of our staff for the summer. Christian, Henrik, and Svea, see you later! Have a good rest of your summer!
