Videregående skole is what we call the language class time for our high school credit students. It is an intense 2 hour block of time that is focused on improving the villagers' reading, writing, speaking and listening skills. Yet, we firmly believe that language learning does not have to happen in a classroom. Rather, we pride ourselves on being outdoors and using other inconventional spaces to immerse and engage the students in their learning. We keep them busy, active and participating; and the results are really impressive. This weekend they are focused on their process oriented writing assignments, with themes like Norways national broadcasting station, Norway in the 90s, and dungeons and dragons. It is a lot of hard work, but it is also a lot of fun!
