Välkomna till Sjölunden!  It's the night before camp starts for all the staff at the village. We have been working hard to get everything ready for your arrival. If your session starts tomorrow, you'll be greeted by our fabulous staff as you enter the village. There are a lot of new faces and places to see. All that's missing is you! We have new pictures posted of the staff, so be sure to check them out. Parents should check back here regularly for updates and pictures. Vi ses...

Hej allihopa! The weeks are speeding by, and the staff of Sjolunden are arriving in Minnesota. Elli and Rasmus are already here and tomorrow Rasmus will begin his badvaktskurs (lifeguard certification) here in Bemidji. Lycka till, Rasmus! Today I visited the new site, and the landscapers were hard at work. New trees, flowers and grass. Lindas veranda is now paved as well. Vad fint! Vi ses snart- Magda

Official camp business- shopping!

Published: July 2, 2009

IKEA ahoy! It's a tough job, but somebody had to do it! Yesterday, Annika and I enjoyed a day of Swedish shopping. Our task- find low-cost furniture for the newest stuga (cabin) at camp. We were very successful- we found a great AS-IS couch (Karlstad), a rug and curtains. We also indulged in a great Swedish lunch. If you're looking for a way to rev up your Swedishness before camp, we recommend a visit to IKEA. Vi ses, Magda
