Time is a crazy thing here at Sjölunden! This session July turned into August, but in the process, we celebrated Lucia (December 13th in Sweden), Christmas (December 24), New Year`s Eve (December 31), midsommar (mid-June), and tonight Valborgsmässoafton (the April 30-May 1st holiday in Sweden). The English translation is Walpurgis Night. This holiday welcomes the coming of spring and honors our students, and we celebrated this evening in grand fashion. The weather today--cold, rainy, then brilliant sunshine, then back to rain, then sunny--certainlyfinally cooperated tonight as we were able to build te huge traditional bonfire as the credit students donned their studentmössa in preparation for their graduation (studenten) tomorrow.
