Making Every Moment Count
Published: June 30, 2018
Yesterday was the last full day for villagers at Salolampi and they made the time left count! Those who had been doing crafts put the finishing touches on their projects, sidewalk chalk drawing and enjoyed swimming in the lake.
In their final Soumikoulus, villagers learned about personal pronouns and got to taste traditional Finnish candy. For their final dinner at Salolampi, villagers got dressed up and experienced a “Christmas” dinner (jouluateria). In the evening, villagers got a sneak peek into Finnish culture by watching a häät, officiated by Santa Clause, and dance at a “reception”/end of week celebration.
