French Preschoolers Explore the Architecture of Paris
Published: January 12, 2020
Last Friday, French preschoolers began their new theme for the semester: Soyons Amis (Making Friends) and met their first “helper friend,” un(e) architecte (an architect). They learned the song Sur le pont d’Avignon (On the bridge of Avignon) to prepare themselves for the challenge ahead.
Becoming architectes (architects) themselves, preschoolers looked to a map of Paris and, using various kinds of blocks, split into groups to figure out how to construct five of some of the most famous monuments in Paris: Le Louvre, Le Pont Neuf, La Tour Eiffel, L’arche de Triomphe and La Tour de Montparnasse . They then came together to match this map of Paris up with the aforementioned monuments. As you can see from the smiles above, they had a great time!
